- The TVS NTorq 125 received its BS6 updates in September last year.
- There were no new features on the scooter aside from the ones needed for emission compliance.
- Expect no further price update for the scooter this year.
It’s almost a year since TVS launched the BS6 version of the NTorq 125. The scooter came bearing a premium of around Rs 7,500 over the BS4 model then. In June, each of the three variants received a small bump up and now, just two months later, prices have once again gone up. Here are the new ex-showroom Delhi prices of the NTorq 125:
Variant |
New TVS NTorq 125 BS6 |
Old TVS NTorq 125 BS4 |
Difference |
Drum |
Rs 67,885 |
Rs 66,885 |
Rs 1,000 |
Disc |
Rs 71,885 |
Rs 70,885 |
Rs 1,000 |
Race Edition |
Rs 74,365 |
Rs 73,365 |
Rs 1,000 |
On an average, the new prices are roughly Rs 10,000 dearer than its BS4 version. And TVS has not done enough to justify the extra asking price as the new NTorq only gets fuel injection and a slightly larger fuel tank. TVS isn’t the only one struggling to justify the premium, the entire automobile industry is. The materials used for the improved catalytic converter aren’t cheap by any means. Thus, the buyer has to bear the brunt of going green.
We have just ridden the TVS NTorq 125 Race Edition BS6. We were hoping the BS6 NTorq 125 would remain as chirpy as the BS4 model because TVS managed to produce the same 9.38PS and 10.5Nm as before from the 124.8cc single-cylinder 3-valve mill. But the acceleration results revealed a shocking truth. Head here to find out what.
