- 2020 MT-25 gets all-new bodywork.
- Gets all-LED lighting, digital instrument console.
- Its 250cc parallel twin motor delivers 35.5PS and 23.6Nm.
Yamaha has launched the 2020 MT-25 in Malaysia at RM 21,500 (Rs 3.80 lakh). The new motorcycle now gets a bodywork identical to the larger MT-03 which is sold in select South-Asian countries. Thats a good thing as the MT-25 now follows the same design as the larger MT bikes and manages to stand apart from the FZ range of naked motorcycles.
The MT-25 is available in two colour options: Ice Fluo and Yamaha Blu. It gets all-LED lighting with a headlamp setup consisting of LED DRL’s and bi-LED projector beam. The digital instrument console gets large fonts and includes a shift light.
Power comes from a 250cc liquid-cooled parallel twin motor that delivers 35.5PS at 12,000rpm and 23.6Nm of torque at 10,000rpm. Underpinnings include a tubular diamond frame with 37mm upside down forks and KYB monoshock. Braking is via disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
While there were a lot of talks of the MT-03 coming to India, the plan didn't pan out. With the R3 being discontinued, we do not see the Yamaha MT-25 or even the MT-03 coming to India. What we get instead is the R15 V3, the MT-15 and the recently launched FZ-25.
