Hero has always seen more success in the world of motorcycles than it has with scooters, so it’s no surprise that its initial efforts in the BS6 era were directed towards bikes. Now, five months after the stricter norms came into effect, the brand has finally unveiled its final BS6 scooter in the form of the Maestro Edge 110 BS6.
This is one of the rare occasions where we have good news to report as part of a BS6 update, because the Maestro hasn’t lost any engine output while cleaning up tailpipe emissions. In fact, it actually produces 0.05Nm more than before, with final output figures standing at 8.16PS at 7500rpm and 8.75Nm at 5500rpm. For comparison, the Activa 6G produces 7.79PS and 8.79Nm. Of course, we can’t have it all our way, and so kerb weight has gone up by a couple of kilos to 112kg.

To help you identify the updated version of the Maestro, Hero has splashed on some new colours and stuck on some new stickers too. At the time of writing, prices haven’t been announced, but we expect an increase of around Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 over the BS4 scooter which was priced between Rs 52,130 and Rs 53,530 (ex-showroom Delhi).
