Loaded With Features

In typical MG fashion, the Gloster will come loaded to the gills with features. Highlights include a 12-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, climate control, cruise control, semi-digital instrument cluster, powered front seats and cruise control. It also comes with such as semi-parallel park assist, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist.

Two Engine Options Likely

The Gloster could be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol variants are likely to be powered by a 224PS/360Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol while the diesel variant could come with the 215PS/480Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel unit. Both engines are likely to come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and will send power to all four wheels via a full-time all-wheel-drive system.

Luxurious Interior

Recent teasers have revealed the Gloster's interior and the design looks very much like a You get a large centrally mounted floating infotainment system and a big colour display flanked by sporty-looking dials in the instrument cluster. A flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel tops the cabin design. It is upholstered in premium-looking quilted tan leather upholstery. Just like the Hector Plus, the Gloster could be offered with captain seats initially.

Imposing Presence

One thing the Gloster is bound to do pretty well is attract attention. This is helped by its size, which is definitely a shade bigger than the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner. In terms of its design, the Gloster gets an XXL-size slatted grille flanked by sleek LED headlamps. The profile is neat and the large wheel arches are filled nicely by dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the Gloster comes with split-LED tail lamps and dual exhaust outlets.

Expected Prices, Rivals

The Gloster sure won't come cheap. We're expecting a starting price of around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). It will take on the, though it's likely to sit above both models.
