As we countdown to the launch of the much-anticipated SUV will begin on October 2, with prices set to be revealed the same day. That said, the wait will continue post launch as deliveries are likely to begin by mid-October.
Mahindra will offer the Thar in three broad variants: AX, AX Optional and LX. The AX variant will cater to adventure seeking buyers while the top-spec LX will be more of a lifestyle offering. Moreover, you also have three body styles: a fixed soft top limited to the base-spec model, a cabriolet, and a fixed hard top.
The new-gen Thar will also appeal to your family with a decent amount of equipment. Highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electric air conditioner, unique roof-mounted speakers, cruise control, front power windows, and remote locking. Safety is covered by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a roll cage, and electronic stability control.
Mahindra will offer the Thar with two engine options including a new mStallion petrol engine. And for the first time, the manufacturer will offer the SUV with an automatic transmission, which will be sold alongside the manual gearbox. Here are the specifications:
