Indian Motorcycles have launched the eFTR Jr overseas. The electric motorcycle is priced at 750 USD (Rs 54,800) and is meant for 8 years and older kids. That's not to say you can't ride it. You just have to weigh less than 79kg and be a contortionist.

Style wise, the eFTR Jr impresses with its flat tracker inspired design and bits like the serrated footpegs and spoke wheels with dual purpose tyres. The battery pack and motor are enclosed in a plastic shroud shaped like the FTR 1200’s liquid cooled motor. It even gets fake twin exhausts.
The electric motor is capable of propelling the motorcycle to a top speed of 25kmph (16kmph in low speed mode). In high speed mode, the battery pack offers a run time of 1 hour 5 minutes while in low speed the run time increases to 2 hours 20 minutes. It takes upto 12 hours to fully charge.
It is a sturdy looking motorcycle with a tubular frame and swingarm and proper underpinnings in the form of upside down forks and a monoshock. Braking is via disc brakes on both wheels. It weighs close to 50kg and has an ultra low 589mm seat height so kids should be able to manage riding the bike easily.
The Indian eFTR Jr is a motorcycle that makes us wish we were kids. Indian is reportedly working on an electric flat tracker that will be called the eFTR which will be a hoot to ride and undoubtedly expensive as well.
