Back in, the folks from Woking had revealed the first teaser images of an upcoming hybrid supercar going through its testing phase. Well now, that hybrid supercar has a name. Called the Artura, it ditches McLaren's traditional numerical naming scheme. Aside from that, the carmaker has also released more teaser images.

The latest teaser images are a closer look at the rear end which is draped in a green shade. It consists of a mesh pattern, flanked by dual exhausts. At the centre lies the Artura and McLaren badging. The rest of the model is yet to be revealed, but earlier camouflage teaser shots showcase a low-slung front end as well as a headlamp and fender setup similar to modern McLarens. Other highlights at the rear include a big diffuser and sleek tail lamps.

Design aside, the biggest talking point of the Artura is what's under the hood. It's an all-new V6 internal combustion engine combined with a hybrid setup. Coming to where the Artura sits in McLaren's portfolio, it'll be between the and the 720S. It will also be the first McLaren model to be based on the carmaker's new McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) carbon fibre structure which is optimised for hybrid powertrains and next-gen driver technologies.

The McLaren Artura will go on sale around the first half of 2021. Expect more details to surface as we head closer to its launch.
