the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre DDiS unit will be phased out. And in a bid to make the Swift, Dzire, S-Cross and Vitara Brezza which come with the 1.3-litre DDIS more attractive, Maruti Suzuki has just announced a 5-Year/1 lakh km warranty for these models at no extra cost.
Only the diesel variants of the above models come with the attractive warranty programme. The warranty will cover all major parts to give you a complete peace of mind. This includes the high-pressure pump, compressor, Electronic Control Module (ECM), turbocharger assembly, critical engine and transmission parts, among others. The steering assembly and suspension struts which are prone to wear and tear are also covered under this plan.
The 1.3-litre DDiS engine powering these models comes in two states of tune. The's unit produces 89PS of power and 200Nm of torque. The only 1.3-litre DDiS model that doesn't get the special warranty programme is the Ciaz with the 1.3-litre diesel motor. However, there is speculation that Maruti might discontinue this variant of the Ciaz diesel soon.
The introduction of the warranty program also comes at the right time as it might help Maruti Suzuki boost sales. The entire Indian automobile industry is which has never been seen before and the inventory is at an all-time high. Manufacturers are cutting down production to streamline their inventory as well. A recent analysis also shows that Maruti Suzuki struggled to cross the one lakh sales mark in July, with 96,478 units sold.
